This is a running group for beginner and intermediate runners – the idea is to help people find their ‘inner runner’. We do a mix of on- and off-road running, hill repeats, running drills, intervals and endurance runs varying in time and distance. You will always be encouraged to keep going and no-one is ever left behind. We have a range of abilities and fitness and people are always suprised at the mix and often say they are gutted they didn’t sign up earlier, as JogSquad indeed caters for all.

JogSquad is generally aimed towards training for an event, however you can choose to simply train without an event in mind. This running group is always welcoming and, more often than not, when JogSquad has a non-running Saturday, you will find many of the girls running somewhere around Wellington together. If this is something you want to aim towards but you’re not sure you are there yet, talk to Duck.


Where and when

Location: Meet at the entrance to Te Papa

Time: 5.45pm, Monday and Wednesday evenings and every second Saturday (8:00am)

What to wear/bring: Appropriate workout gear for Wellington weather. A head or hand torch in the winter and warm clothing for after.

  • Round 7:   Monday 31 August – 2 October  (5 weeks)
  • Round 8:   Monday 12 October – 14 November  (5 weeks)
  • Round 9:   Monday 23 November – Wednesday 23 December   (5 weeks)

Option 1: JogSquad (winter 2020 update)

  • Five week block s
  • 2 x weekday runs from TePapa on Monday and Wednesday
  • Start time is now 5:45 pm to accommodate different work patterns and an earlier finish means earlier home and to bed…hopefully 🙂
  • 2 x Saturday morning runs (option to add in 1 x FitStart session a week: a great way to build your strength
  • Cost: $130 for the round (or $180 including the FitStart add-on session)
Option 2: Online 

  • Five week programme which will be on Training peaks.
  • There will be a mix of easy runs, hill work, speed sessions, tempos etc…
  • You have the option to add in 1 x FitStart session a week (either Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning at 6.15 am) – a great way to build your strength
  • Cost: $75 for the round (or $125 including the FitStart add-on session )
Option 3: Online + weekend runs

  • Five week programme which will be on Training peaks.
  • 2 x Saturday morning runs
  • There will be a mix of easy runs, hill work, speed sessions, tempos etc…
  • You have the option to add in 1 x FitStart session a week (either Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning at 6.15 am) – a great way to build your strength
  • Cost: $95 for the round (or $145 including the FitStart add-on session)
